Early Years
Early Years settings are where children gain one of their first community experiences with a group of peers and adults who are not home and family.
Learning tust and communication is fundamental, if they are to develop and understand relationships and the social interaction with others around them.
The Working With Others approach to Early Years offers a practical way of building these key social skills and from personal experience, I have seen the social impact it can have on children as young as 8 months – 4 years, who:
- are more aware of other children around them
- respond with empathy
- are more willing to co-operate and work together
- understand what it means to take turns
- recognise and respond to emotions in themselves and others
- exceeding expectations of what children can do at that age
The Working With Others approach also has a significant and positive motivational impact on the way that staff teams work together, their professional interaction and dialogue.
Staff confidence and esteem are increased as they become and feel more involved and there is a positive knock on effect to the children from this rigorous framework that is underpinned by university based research.
My courses and training can be tailored to the needs of individuals, a single organisation, a group of centres, or a Local Authority.
